The uses of talc as a paper filler is suitable for rotogravure printing process. Two things are very important for rotogravure paper; paper smoothness and good spool formation. As talc is a flat-like particle, it helps improve the paper smoothness. The low coefficient of friction of talc helps to produce a large spool with constant tension.

Features:

• Talc is an organophilic, so absorbs impurities from the process, such as pitch, resin particles. Hence talc is used as a cleaner of the wet-end system of the paper machine. Talc also prevents agglomeration. Therefore improve paper machine runnability.

In order to add beneficial attributes to the fertilizers, use of our talc facilitates the feature of coating agent. For instance, it prevents fertilizer caking by making them flow able as a layer of covering the particles, makes them anti absorbent to water, disallows crystal bridge formation so as to allow longer period storage and last but not the least, by making them dust preventive.

The automotive and domestic appliances markets are still the dominating users of talc-filled compounds, but new markets are being developed. Their growth depends partly on the extent to which end-users actively seek alternative materials to PVC and PS. Markets of interest here include profiles, pipes and food packaging. In replacement of PVC for plastic pipes, there is a need to compensate for the lower ring stiffness of polyolefin, but also to reduce undesirable long-term properties of unfilled polypropylene and polyethylene, such as their tendency to creep (deform under long-term strain). Talc is the preferred additive in this application, as it imparts high stiffness, which allows a reduction.

Talc improves output in extrusion and shortens cycle times in thermoforming, due to crystallization and better heat transfer. These benefits make talc compounds very competitive for food packaging, so there is considerable potential in this application.
